I realized I had to change my mindset in order to change my life and to create a life that I want.

A while ago, my husband suggested positive affirmations. It was not something I knew a lot about at the time and felt it just wasn’t my thing. I was pretty resistant to it actually.

But after my husband and I went through positive parenting coaching, I felt more confident with myself as a parent and my outlook changed.

I knew I wanted to stay focused on my goal of being a positive parent, being the best I can be, and that’s when I decided to create affirmations for myself.

Because every mom needs to be reminded about the beauty, purpose, and strength in being a mother!

WHAT ARE AFFIRMATIONS AND HOW DO THEY WORK?

Affirmations are statements intended to provide positive encouragement and motivation.

Using affirmations regularly and with full conviction will empower you and eventually break the patterns of negative and limiting beliefs.

By taking charge of your thoughts and changing the way you think, you are more in control of your mind and everything in your life changes.

Just like you exercise to improve your physical health, consider affirmations as exercise for your mental health - it ultimately alters the way you think and act.

  • Write a short, positive affirmation to replace it.
  • Always state it in the positive, use present tense, and use the first person pronoun, I.
  • Use positive feeling words, such as loving, hopeful, wonderful, grateful, joyful, free, loving, confident, etc.

HOW DO YOU USE POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS?

Pick 1 or 2 affirmations and use them daily for 30 days. The real power of affirmations lies in repeating them regularly. Try saying it three times a day - morning, afternoon, and evening.

You will start to make positive changes when you repeat the affirmations often and believe in them.

Place your affirmation cards where you can easily see them. Consider making duplicates of your affirmations and place them throughout your house, in your vehicle, your purse, and even your office. You can even set a reminder on your phone or computer!

I like to tuck my affirmation card into my mirror on my vanity, put it on the fridge, keep it on my office desk, or place it on my bedside table.
